The Board Development Committee ensure effective board processes, structures and roles, including retreat planning, committee development, and board evaluation; sometimes includes role of nominating committee, such as keeping list of potential board members, orientation and training.

Community Action Program

Civil Rights

The Civil Rights Committee works closely with the community to educate, mobilize, and assist our members in the fight against discrimination and sexual harassment.

The Civil Rights Committee works with Local, State and National resources such as the community groups, trade unions and other business organizations to play a major role in voter registration and turnout campaigns in many communities across our service area.

Community Services

The Community Services Committee develops programs and materials to help both working and unemployed GLBTY Community members and their families in the areas of health and social services. Working to link members and their families with health, financial, or other problems to the government, private agencies and many agencies, coalitions, and community groups in our community who can best
assist them.

Education

The Education Committee strives to educate, and develope opportunities to advance individual opportunites.

Currently the Education Committe is working on the "Out and Proud Library" project  and the provides research asistance to various committies and to the Board of Directors.

Comming soon, the GLBTYQ Scholarship Program will provide learning opportunites to hundreds of individuals each year. 

Evalluation & Quality Control

The Evaluation and Quality Control Committee ensures sound evaluation of products, services, programs provided by the GLBTY Referral Hotline, including, e.g., outcomes, goals, data, analysis and resulting adjustments of our program, services and activities.

Executive

The Executive Committee oversees operations of the GLBTY Referral Hotline Board of Directors; often acts on behalf of the board during on-demand activities that occur between meetings, and these acts are later presented for full board review; comprised of board chair, other officers and/or committee chairs (or sometimes just the officers, although this might be too small); often performs evaluation of chief executive.

Fundraising

The Fundraising Committee oversees development and implementation of our Fundraising Plans.  They identifiey and solicits funds from external sources of support, working with the President.

Finance

The Finance Committee oversees development of the budget; ensures accurate tracking, monitoring, accountability for funds; ensures adequate financial controls; often led by the board treasurer; reviews major grants and associated terms.

Legal

The Legal Committee provides advice, guidance and services to the Executive Beam and the Board of Directors. The legal team may be asked to provide counsel to the Friends of the Board Committe by the President on occassions.

Marketing

The Marketing Committee oversees development and implementation of the GLBTY Referral Hotline Marketing Plan, including identifying potential markets, their needs, how to meet those needs with products, services, programs, and how to promote and sell the programs.

Product / Program Development

The Product / Program Development Committee guides development of service delivery mechanisms; may include evaluation of the services; link between the board and the staff on program's activities

Personnel

The Personnel Committee guides development, review and authorization of personnel policies and procedures; sometimes leads evaluation of the chief Executive; sometimes assists chief executive with leadership and management matters and reports to President.

Public Relations

The Public Relations Committee represents the organization to the community; enhances the organization's image, including communications with the press.

Promotions and Sales

The Promotions and Sales Committee promotes organization's services to the community, including generating fees for those services.
